The Kubbchucks master of cleanup Jim Bernard is off in Colorado for some high-altitude winter Kubb training! At the top of Inspiration Point outside of Fraser, Bernard is throwing some low oxygen Kubb getting his platelets up and conditioning ready for the Minnesota Kubb 2013 Loppet Tournament.
The Kubb Snipers played in 10 inches of fresh powder last week. I only had half that to contend with and got 3 really enjoyable snow kubb sessions in this past week. Snow definitely makes baton throws more interesting – sliding, ramping, curves, and ruts and add an element of surprise to the throws.
I didn’t see much of a difference inkasting – if anything the ruts in the snow make clustering much much easier.
